Exercise prescription for older adults: What to do and how much is enough?
Physical activity is essential for healthy aging. The benefits of both cardiovascular exercise and strength training are widespread and include decreased disability from cardiovascular disease, diabetes, pulmonary disease, arthritis, and balance difficulties.
Haley Carter, DPT will discuss the normal physiological changes of aging and how to safely engage in exercise in order to prevent injury and enhance overall wellness. Her seminar will also review the many psychological benefits of exercise and will motivate you to take steps towards a more active lifestyle. She will also provide local resources to help you begin and maintain an exercise program.
