Many people in our area are dealing with diseases of the immune system and inflammation. Autoimmune disease can be particularly difficult, because the body’s defense system has become unregulated and begins to cause disease in the body rather than preventing it.
In this situation, Western medicine attempts to quiet immune system function with strong medications that can have numerous side effects.
Many people with autoimmune disease look to complementary and alternative medicine to more holistically approach autoimmune disease or as a way to reduce side effects of pharmacologic therapy aimed at quieting the immune system.
During this hour-long seminar, Dr. Julie McGregor will discuss safe and effective measures of dealing with autoimmune disease as a complement to pharmacologic therapy.
Dr. McGregor is a UNC-trained internal medicine physician. Her integrative medicine practice is open to all adults looking for integrative primary care or integrative consultations in her areas of focus.
